The original intent behind the vegetable rebellion ep was interesting

Pity it wasn't made with that plot in mind.

>>>>>This episode was based on an earlier script by Packer called "Carnival in Space." It involved two alien botanists who are trying to find new crops to feed their starving planet and think the emotions of the Earth people could be used to modify their plants. The name Tybo is retained for Stanley Adams' character but originally he was supposed to be a mad assistant to a kindly older scientist.

I heard that Irwin Allen got so annoyed that June Lockhart and Guy Williams were not taking the episode seriously enough that he wrote them out of the three episodes.

Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!

Getting paid for doing nothing. We should all be so fortunate.

That makes it sound suspiciously similar to season two's "The Dream Monster," which was also written by Peter Packer.

WELL the premise was NOT that ahem "far out" . Plants ARE alive so on an alien planet they might scream in pain when hacked at

Despite sleeping through most of it Penny is given possibly one of her best lines about how the planets environment works

AND like plants were NO strangers to LIS Judy was duplicated by one Traveling Man was invaded with them The Space Croppers Smith's "orange" plant?

Was not Angus made of seaweed?

Plants attacking humans on an alien world in outer apace is not so ridiculous it's what they did with it and in 1968 What Could They Do to make a plant a threat other then dropping leaves sticks or logs on people?

Worst eps of show were Cousin Smith and Two Weeks in Space

reply

For plants to simply scream in pain when getting hacked at is not realistic. Now, if they shouted "A-S-S-S-S-H-O-O-O-L-E", that would be realistic.

But Two Weeks in Space had the sexy Edie Williams if nothing else!!!!
