Episode in which they arrested crooks for minor violations

I remember an episode in which the guys heard that a group of Bad Guys were gathering in town to commit a Dastardly Deed. The Bad Guys didn't arrive at once, so they arrested them one-by-one for minor violations (I remember spitting in the street.) when they were off-guard

I haven't seen this show in 50 years, so I may have remembered it wrongly; it may even be a different show. Does anyone else remember?
