Theme song by Earle Hagen

The "I Spy" theme is still my all-time favorite, from an era when virtually every sitcom, drama or Western, had a theme you could hum or sing (if it had lyrics, such as THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES). And the king of theme-song writers was Earle Hagen. Besides I SPY (for which he also wrote original scores for nearly every episode), he wrote the themes for THAT GIRL, THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE JOEY BISHOP SHOP (the sitcom), THE MOD SQUAD, EIGHT IS ENOUGH, THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY and GOMER PYLE, USMC. He also wrote the enduring tune, "Harlem Nocturne," which was used as the theme for MICKEY SPILLANE'S MIKE HAMMER.

"May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?"

"Rawhide" was the best one.
