HAZEL MEDINA....

...Not trying to get "Cos" in trouble with the wife, but I DID notice that an overwhelmingly striking actress named HAZEL MEDINA worked a couple of times WITH Cosby---once as his sister in the "Cops and Robbers" episode with JIM BROWN, and at least once, later--on THE BILL COSBY SHOW (not sure if she ever guested on his classic 1980's show!) I wonder if it was Mr. Cosby's intention to "discover" or "mentor" this girl (and even though I'm using quotes, I'm not really sarcastically implying salacious intent on his part!) I guess what I'm trying to get at is: is anybody out there familiar with HAZEL MEDINA and how she might have known Mr. Cosby?

reply

I don't see what you're getting at.

I believe Wally Cox guest starred in I SPY and TBCS.

Maybe if it wasn't axed after 2 years Bill might of tried getting Robert in an episode as he did with TCS.

reply

WALLY COX was an established star (through "Mr. Peepers", etc,) by the time he worked with Cos----but, actually---that even helps solidify my point----that, usually when a star works with an actor or actress multiple times, some sort of friendship (or at least a strong working relationship) develops between them! Sometimes the star will even request to work with a guest actor again because of the positive nature of their previous working relationship! When HAZEL MEDINA was just starting out as an actress, many of her early associations were with BILL COSBY shows! I don't know if you know who I'm talking about (Ms. Medina played "Scotty's" sister who was being held hostage, along with their mother, BEAH RICHARDS, by JIM BROWN in the "I SPY" ep "Cops and Robbers"! Ms. Medina was exceptionally beautiful, and she had a spunk to her that made one think "this is a girl who's going to go on to bigger things!" (although she never really did!) I'm just wondering if Cosby saw the same star-making potential in her, and tried to showcase her as much as he could!

reply

Is it necessary to put these ! at the end of your sentences?

reply

Yes! (aka "don't mess with my enthusiasm")----There, that was a spot where I could have used an exclamation point, but chose not to! Why do they bug you so much?

reply

just found out that this lovely actress passed away in 2012, more than one year BEFORE I'd made my original post inquiring as to whether BILL COSBY might have been responsible for ushering Ms. Medina into the business! (I think her first acting job was as his sister on I SPY, then later she was on THE BILL COSBY SHOW-the one where he played "Chet Kincaid", the gym teacher!)

Maybe people should re-read this older thread in the
light of recent disclosures about Cosby's life -
or maybe just let it die like his career already has.
Sad no matter what your view, hmmm?
