What were the best episodes from "I Spy" ?

Good Afternoon,

I'm conducting some research based on the classic television series "I Spy".

What were the best episodes from this series? Commemorating on its golden 50th Anniversary.

Even though the series lasted only three seasons producing 83 episodes in color from 1965-1968.

I'll start the ball rolling here with.......

"It's All Done With Mirrors"-guest starring Carroll O'Connor

And were there any best episodes from this series including the episode that won Bill Cosby the Emmy in 1966.

I would appreciate any and all comments regarding this.

As you would of guessed by now, there is not much action on this board, perhaps partly because all re-runs of the series have been put on worldwide hold because of the current ugly talk about Bill Cosby in the worldwide press.

But in answer to your question, I do have some of the episodes on DVD, but I don't have episode titles with me.

The episode with the rude boy prince springs to mind as a favourite...the episode was a sort of remake of a B&W Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea episode titled: Long Live The King.

I got your message as of yesterday afternoon regarding this post. Again, thank you. I'm surprised that there is not much action on the board, partly because all re-runs of the series "I Spy" as well as re-runs of "Fat Albert",and even "The Cosby Show" have been put on worldwide hold because of the current issues surrounding Bill Cosby. Not to mention there has been a worldwide hold also his late-1960's sitcom "The Bill Cosby Show", not to mention "The Cosby Mysteries",and a hold on DVD for his other 90's sitcom "Cosby"....By the way if you're planning to buy a copy or get selected episodes for "I Spy" all retailers including Amazon and even Wal-Mart or Target and any other selected video market has put ANYTHING associated with Bill Cosby on worldwide permanent hold.....It is hard to get....

I do however have VHS Copy of selected episodes of "I Spy" for my personal collection.

As of December 31, 2015 I submitted on IMDB commentary relating to the 50th Anniversary of the "I Spy" television series and you're more than welcome to read them and let me know what you think. I also in my comments selected the best episodes from "I Spy" and is on there too. The commentary is under the "raysond" profile on IMDB. Again thank you. Here is the site to view comments.....

Also added to the list under "raysond" are the 50th anniversary comments for "The Wild,Wild West" and "The Big Valley" not to mention the 40th anniversary comments for "Starsky and Hutch", "SWAT", and "Space:1999".....

Last December I got six second hand "I Spy" discs at a video store in Sydney, Australia. But I have not seen the series anywhere else in Australia for the reasons you mention.

One of the episodes has a commentary from Robert Culp which gave me a huge insight into how the show got started and all the problems they encountered doing all that location filming outside the USA (which was a BIG, BIG thing in 1965).

The series is just as good as Mission Impossible (1966-73) and The Man From UNCLE (1964-68) and it deserves to be seen in 2016.

Yes, raysond, I will look at your stuff on IMDb when I have a chance. I did look at your Review history and saw your positive comments about other 1960s adventure shows like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Time Tunnel.

I have had a lifetime interest/addiction to those shows.

You have to wonder what Time Tunnel would of been like if Robert Culp/Bill Cosby were the leads instead of James Darren/Robert Colbert. That would of added some welcome humour, but then again, such light hearted Cosby/Culp talk would not of gone down well with series producer, Irwin Allen.

Just saw this. Best ep? Bet Me a Dollar, from season 1. Kelly bets Scotty a dollar that he can't find him anywhere he goes in Mexico. It's a lark, a way to escape the pressure of the job. But unknown to Kelly, he was cut with a knife right before disappearing himself and has contracted anthrax. 24 hours to live. Great scenery and shots of Mexico. Also Affair in T'Sien Cha, another 1st season ep, this time in Hong Kong. Love Tiger Balm Gardens, which were torn down about a decade or so ago, although the version in Singapore is still going strong. Strong ep
