Wild cats are not allowed in most neighborhoods. She could have been fined or evicted for having that ocelot.

I'm only guessing but the laws may not have been so strict back then, besides it might be possible to own such a pet if you have a special permit to do so.

You can it depends on where you live, I've seen people with pet bobcats and wildcats.

In the 50s and 60s ocelots were popular pets for people who could afford them as pets but I think they became endangered because people also wanted them to wear as furs and it reduced the population until the late 70s or 80s.

In this day and age Honey West would be in trouble from Peta for wearing some of those animal furs she wore on the series.

When I was in college there was a school that had a pet wildcat as their mascot in the early 80s.

heck back then you could even order exotic animals by mail!
squirrel monkeys were about 13.95 and came in a crate with chicken wire on the top and the frickin post man brought it!
