Is Green Acres a figment of Oliver's mental breakdown.

It sure seems to be indicative of how insanity works. Everyone else is insane except me.

Maybe thats why all the other characters seem normal when Hooterville was visited on Pettycoat Junction 

Channel Six News, they'll finger anything with a pulse!

Very interesting insight..

I read somewhere that Simpsons creator called GA "Oliver Douglas in hell", I always refer to it as Petticoat Junction on acid

Ever notice how the other characters act generally normal when Oliver is NOT around? I remember there was a scene where Mr Kimball and Eb were alone together for a period of time and they actually where having quite a normal conversation.

Also Eb and Lisa interact pretty normally when Oliver is not around. I remember there was a scene where Eb and Lisa were in the kitchen just talking normally to each other, then when Oliver walks in they both start acting loony. lol

Maybe Oliver fell asleep while watching "Beverly Hillbillies"

Whole series was like Oliver was getting gaslit.
