Max and the origin of the 'Blue Car'?

Max killed Otto Hurrah...then took his car for the new credits???

I never noticed this until I got the DVD set...are my eyes deceiving me?

The blue car that Otto Hurrah is driving in Part 3 of "A Man Called Smart" is what I'm referring to(the end of Season 2). Is it the same one as the Season 3-4 credits?

If you say so. I'm not an expert on cars in the least; they just looked really similar(and timely for such a thing), heh.

Hello, 2009-Man! I'm writing from 2013 so you're probably not around anymore.
The blue car would be a VW Karmann-Ghia (I had one!) and can be explained by the fact that the show was sponsored by Volkswagen that season. Except for the opening titles, the car was never in the show. I remember one episode, where a KAOS HQ was gotten into via a car wash, the KAOS guy entered in a VW Bug, but Max was in his trusty Sunbeam Tiger.

The Karmann-Ghia was also mentioned in an episode of the short-lived 1995 revival of Get Smart. Max was trying to sell it through the classified ads and eventually got an offer on it.

No, it isn't the Karmann Ghia. It's the Sunbeam Tiger with a new paint job or another one that was blue. The model name is clearly visible on the fender on the DVD. They might have done a quickie water based paint job on it since it's only used briefly.

I'm watching the episode "Diamonds are a Spy's Best Friend" (season 4) that had the Karman Ghia in the opening sequence, but in the episode itself he was driving a blue Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible (may have been a California Special). Add that to the list.

Ha! Made you look!!

You are correct Bargle77. It is a light blue Sunbeam Tiger seen in Season 2, Episode 30: "A Man Called Smart: Part 3". It is driven less than 50 feet by the character Otto Hurrah.
