Thanks for the link and the answer to my question. That is so eerie he made it onto that game show like that with no check on his background. That was in the 1970s though where the security measures weren't as up to par as they are today.

for serial killer Rodney Alcala on "The Dating Game". Background checks were probably more difficult to conduct in the '70s but not impossible. Alcala had already served prison time twice for assaulting underage girls when he appeared on the show. The douche bags who produced the show should shown more concern for their female contestants.
