rapper Busta Rhymes 'Branded' song

Rapper Busta Rhymes took Allen Alch's lyrics to TV's "Branded" and used them in a song, probably making a lot of money. Is this copyright infringement or did he get permission? I can only find the 2002 rap song lyrics credited to Rhymes. Mr. Alch died in 1995 according to IMDb. Just curious. Seems like there would be a music union rule or something, taking another songwriter's lyrics and claiming you wrote them.

Artist: Busta Rhymes
Album (2002): It Ain't Safe No More...
Song: What Do You Do When You're Branded

[Chorus: Busta - singing]
Branded... scorned is the one who raaaan
What do you do when your branded? And you know you're a man.

You must proooooove, you're a man

i just heard the rap song this year. I was cracking up. I asked the resident 22-year old rap expert in my office. He knew and loved the song, but was completely unaware that it was based on an old tv show. I gave him a copy of Branded, now he's hooked on the show!

I remember the television show when I was a kid and someone made up alternative lyrics for the theme song. They were: "Standed, stranded on the toilet bowl. What do you do when you're stranded, and you can't reach the roll. To prove you're a man you must wipe with your hand." I thought it was funny then and it is hilarious now.
