50th anniversary (2014)- any special re-release?

Given that this brilliant film- even today- let alone 1964, is nearly fifty years old, will there be any special blu ray editions with deleted scenes etc?

Doubt it but there should be!

First saw this gem as a very young teen, and have never forgotten the scene as the Redcoats heard what they thought was the sound of a train, then an eerie silence. Couple of minutes later, the massed impis rose on the slopes of the hills around them - my heart was thumping and the hairs on my neck prickled!!

Trouble is the film has been shown SO many times on British tv, even some of those who enjoyed the first screening, now groan when they see some channel or other re-showing it.
Still a great yarn and full of suspense.

It's fallen into public domain so I don't know if there's any money in a restoration and rerelease. I don't know if it's possible to copyright a restoration of a PD film. If it can be copyrighted then I bet someone will do it, if not then I doubt it would be worth the expense of the restoration.

Coincidentally, thefilm is being reshown on the UK's Channel Four today ; doubt I will watch it as have the dvd and must have watched it at least 12 times 0).

One of my neighbours used to live in kwaZulu-Natal (over 4 years)and has seen some genuine traditional Zulu dances, and has eagerly confirmed that some of the impis would be very intimidating to many of our troops back in 1879, as even her spine tingled at moments.
