MY FIRST OFFICIAL DATE..........

........was at a drive-in theatre to see this movie!

I was 16, and my date lived down the street from me,
and his twin brother had just started dating one of my best friends.

We went with their older sister and her husband as chaperones,
(yes....in the "olden days" we had chaperones), and the four of us were
all snug in the back seat.

Well....needless to say....I started to enjoy the storyline immediately.
My date wanted to cuddle and kiss, and I wanted to see the movie!!

Well..things got progressively worse, once I started seeing all of those
delicious fashions by Edith Head!

H*ll...even though I was crazy about my new "official" boyfriend,
and enjoyed the kissing and the cuddling, I wanted to see the DAM movie!!

Well, as it turns out....I couldn't really keep up with the plot for......
.....well you know what I mean! LOL!!

Fast forward some 46 years later..... I can now watch this movie, eat up
all of the eye candy fashions, along with Robert Mitchum (my favorite);
without having to LOCK LIPS! LOL!!

What a cute story! I see that you haven't posted for a few years but I hope you are still around.
I saw this for the first time at the theater at age 8 with my sisters....
Nothing so romantic as your experience..... It always stuck in my mind.
I saw this the other day about 50 years later and I have to say that it's even better the second time around!

Hi, MissMargoChanning...I know it's almost a year after your post to my post; thanks for enjoying my story. My new handle is necoleman. Couldn't remember my old email address and password to log in under HillieBoliday after being off the boards for a while and getting a new computer. I enjoyed your story about seeing the movie too! Very refreshing compared to many comments on other threads where people argue or are just snarky with each other. Yours made me smile. :)

Curious if you ever got your nickname issue resolved; there should be a way to contact the administrators through the help area? Or there should be a way to get the password for your old email through their "I can't remember my password" function. There's always someone somewhere that can reset these type of things that crop up.

Hi Bladerunnerrr...thanks for your fun compliment. I did try to reinstate my original handle; but to no avail. I've tried everything. It took a while for a live body to finally respond; and I was told I couldn't use it...I would just have to use a new one. I've got a plan to get my old handle back...just have to try under a new email account. Thanks so much for your help!
