Driver in Blue Car 55 Blew Up and Died?

That's hella messed up.

That's because the Not-So-Bad-Bad-Guy a) was French; b) thought he could beat Elvis in the race; and c) thought he could take Ann-Margaret from Elvis.

It doesn't even matter that they were essentially buddy-buddy in the beginning of the film. One thing I've learned from Elvis flicks, you don't challenge the King or you meet a grim Fate. 

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

Italian, not French...dimwit!

I don't know what's a sig. line? Can't think of one! Can you tell me what one is?

Also the Count was in a red car, not a blue car. That was one of the other racers. The Count gets a flat and other racers run into him (and I believe he flips?) but he doesn't necessarily get killed like the guy the OP mentions.

The Count survived. He was a guest at the wedding at the end.
