'My Rival'

The greatest song from the film was "My Rival" because it was done in 1 take (no cuts).

OMG it was so amazing, that i my favorite part. i love watching ann-margret

if life was fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead

I adore this number, too. What really tans my hide is the fact that I can't find it on any Ann-Margret CD or Viva Las Vegas soundtrack ... must be hung up in legal limbo. Darn.

I love this song. It's really catchy. Ann-Margret is so adorable doing this song. It would be no contest in my book....a car or the sexy Ann-Margret.

My Rival is one of my favorite songs from the movie. It really is impossible to find the song ANYWHERE like loureibl said. The only cd that I have found is part of a 5 disc compilation of Ann Margret's songs. While I think she is fabulous, I really don't want all of her songs.

This was an amazing song. Ann-Margret singing it got my blood pumping when I first saw it at 10 years old as much as it does today at 53 years old.

Ann-Margret was GREAT in this movie. Without a doubt, "Viva Las Vegas" was the best Elvis movie ever, along with being my personal favorite.

<3 I loved that song.

The reason you can't find it is she and others thought the vocals were terrible and didn't want to put them out for the public.

And Viva Las Vegas is a great song - but did they have to stuff it in the movie 3 times??? (OK, the last time, in split screen, was a gift!)

So it was kept from mass consumption all these years? I guess those days are finally gone though, since today it would be easy to just remove the video from that scene and save it as an .mp3.

I just saw "VLV" again last night and this song is still running through my head! Happens every time.

"I told you a million times not to talk to me when I'm doing my lashes"!

That's my FAVORITE scene! It's the most memorable one. What a catchy, funny tune!!

I love how she puts catsup and mustard on the sandwiches, but no meat or cheese

Maybe she went vegan?

The way she smashed that salami into that meat grinder and hacked away at the whole loaf of bread made me think she was angrier at men than Little Blue Cars.

But doing the whole Bit in one take was very cool, taking a lot of time to get it right.
Just spinning around and catching the Popping Toast (4 slices!) required split second timing from the crew and A-M. Impressive Teamwork.

BTW, that meat grinder stunt should be in Goofs. The meat has to "go" somewhere, like out of the Grinder part, not just Collapse like a balloon.

Also, I thought there was cheese on the bottom toast layer, ghetto grilled cheese. Ketchup, yuk.

Whatever is not nailed down is mine. Whatever I can pry loose is not nailed down.

Done in one take--so was Elvis' "Viva Las Vegas" number at the talent contest.
