Excellent, well worth seeing

I had never heard of this movie until I saw it on TCM. From it's first moment until it's final scene, this story of revenge is so well played that I can't believe it is so unfamiliar to so many. Ingrid Bergman, as an aristocrat plotting the murder of her debaser with the full cooperation of the "good" people of Guellen is simply amazing. The ending reveals a complex, well played revenge, so competently planned and executed that it almost left me stunned with the storyline, and an amazingly well honed performance by Ingrid Bergman.

This movie immediately entered the ranks of my top 25 movies of all time.
