Jesus' Siblings

There was a scene, if my memory serves me correct, where Jesus' mother and brothers show up to one of his sermons.

I thought he only had one brother - James

How many more were there, what were their names and what happened to them?

reply

Jesus'. siblings are mentioned in Mark 6:3 and Matthew 13:55-56. Both mention brothers James, Joseph (Joses), Judas (Jude) and Simon as well as unnamed sisters.

There has been debate for 2,000 years if they were actual siblings of Jesus or other relative, such as cousins or step-brothers.

Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox traditions, and some Anglicans believe Mary remained a virgin her entire life. Protestant leaders Martin Luther, Huldrych Zwingli, and John Wesley believed in her perpetual virginity as well.

Everybody else believes that Mary and Joseph consummated their marriage and had children.

Don't you lay a hand on my Sasquatch!

They were brothers and sisters in a spiritual sense
