Needs a better IMDb description
Shouldn't that brief description on the top of the page describe the premise of a film in a neutral, matter-of-fact manner? The description for Il Vangelo secondo Matteo sort of bothers me:
The life of Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of Matthew. Pasolini shows Christ as a marxist avant-la-lettre and therefore uses half of the text of Matthew.
It's not that one couldn't make this kind of interpretation of the film. But in my opinion the description should feature as little interpreting as possible. For example, wouldn't it be weird if the description for Alien (1979) said something like this:
"In a science fiction setting, Scott presents an allegory for the male fear of penetration."
Again, its not impossible to look at the film like this, but it is a rather strange way of introducing the work. Here's the actual description for Alien:
The commercial vessel Nostromo receives a distress call from an unexplored planet. After searching for survivors, the crew heads home only to realize that a deadly bioform has joined them.
Shouldn't this film also have something more like that? share
