I want to watch this movie but...

I've looked up a few scenes on YouTube and from what I can tell Jesus is portrayed well. However, I can't overlook one detail. The Roman soldiers look nothing like Roman soldiers. They look like English soldiers from the movie Braveheart. Did they even try to make them look like Roman soldiers? Anyway, I'm sure the movie is great, but like I said, it's one detail I can't help but noticing.
