A short video explaining some of the major and minor differences between all 3 versions of Richard Matheson's novella in the posters opinion.

My biggest beef with Last Man and Omega Man (won't even discuss the Will Smith travesty) is that both films make their protagonist a scientist. Most of the suspense of the novel is all the constant researching Neville's doing. While Last Man tries hard and ultimately succeeds more than Omega, which is still a blast of a fun movie, neither one has the sense of isolation and the dread. If they are going to make a legit movie of I Am Legend, it needs to NOT be a Hollywood blockbuster with some hot shot actor in it. Read the source material, screen 'writers' and I use the term very loosely.

It's only my opinion. Climb down.

I'll give Omega Man a pass on that since it's a considerably more over the top adaptation but yeah it does seem a little too convenient that the last man on earth just so happens to be a scientist. The idea that a plain ol' factory worker would be the only survivor of a worldwide plague must've been just a bit too hoi polloi for hollywood at the time.

I'm genuinely convinced that every movie would be better with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.

The scientist complaint aside, I'm easily going with Price's classic as the best.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
