Titos Vandis

I recently saw "Topkapi" and was very pleased to see the old Greek area of Phaner in Istanbul where my paternal side hailed from-where the great director of the American screen, Elia Kazan, was born.
Someone asked about a Greek song in the film on this blog. If they were referring to "Nina Ny Ny" it is originally a Turkish song. We borrow from each other.
It was great to see Tito Vandis as a Turkish detective. He bought me an egg salad sandwich when I was a down and out actor in Hollywood back in the seventies.
Can we ever forget his performance in "Never on Sunday?"
