Film-Noir?

I haven't seen the movie yet, planning on renting it soon but i am curious, is this movie considered a film-noir?

Jules Dassin has directed some classic noir films (including BRUTE FORCE, NIGHT AND THE CITY and RIFIFI), but TOPKAPI - while a classic "heist" picture - can't really be classified as a noir; the tone is too light-hearted and playful.

It's a wonderful film with an unforgettable sequence in Istanbul's Topkapi Museum. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the enlightening mate. I've seen Rififi ( which i liked a lot) and the day for Topkapi has finally arrived, im seeing it tonight so, i hope I'l enjoy it too . ^^

Isn't a defining feature of film noir the fact that the film is set mainly at night ie. noir? "Topkapi" is a movie taking part mainly in daylight.
