Seeking VHS copy of Time Travelers

For about 30 years I had these scenes in my head from a sci-fi film I saw when I saw very young (around 1970-71). I had always wondrered what th film was and longed to see it again. I recently found out that it was the film Time Travelers. The film is very rarely seen and seems to be unavailable on video or DVD. Does anyone out there have a copy in the US or the UK? The condition doesn't matter, I just want to see the film again to satisfy the 30 year old memories I have of it! It would be amazing to see it again. If anyone can help, I'd be so grateful if you could get in touch. I would pay all costs of course. Please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks!

Hopefully 'The Time Travelers' will come out on DVD sometime (along with 'Robinson Crusoe On Mars').
Too bad you're far away in the UK -- this weekend the film is screening in Hollywood on August 24th. The director will be there, so I hope to attend this.

Thanks for replying! So have you actually seen Time Travellers? If so, maybe you could confirm if these scenes are in the film for me...I'm rememberign them from 30 years ago so might not be 100% accurate! I remember one scene where some people are being given a tour of an underground robot factory in the desert/wilderness, and one of the production robots catches fire. The robots have mesh mouths like in Woody Allen's 'Sleeper'. There was also a scene where the group of time travellers pass through a large screen to time travel, and another scene where they encounter themselves back in their ship, but the other versions of themselves are moving incredibly slowly! Do those scenes resemble anything in Time Travellers? Thanks for your help. Someone has actually offered me a VHS copy of the film, so I may finally get to see the film again after 30 years!! Wow!

I know your message is quite ancient (LOL), but I do have a copy of the movie. The scientists from the past ARE given a tour of the android production plant, but nothing catches fire. The fire occurs later in the film as the "good" humans are being attacked by the mutant humans.
the travelers pass thru what was called a time windwo, but upgraded to a time portal.
When they try to get back to the past, they encounter themselves in s-l-o-w motion in thier laboratory at the college where they were experimenting.
You were a little fuzzy in remembering the details, but that is expected since it is rarely shown anywhere in the world.
Now, sadly, I cannot copy the tape for you, since it would be ILLEGAL. However, you can view it at my house. In fact, we should make it some kind of convention and try to get A&E or whoever to re-release it. That would be cool.
contact me at [email protected] if you want.

Later.

Try Ebay. I just bought a VHS copy for a few bucks. There were two or three available at the time. Most were rental store copies.

Hello, I too am looking for a copy of The Time Travelers 1964, so far no luck, but It was mentioned on this website www.sendit.com. Their web page stated its availability as 'pending', so I am not sure wether it will be obtainable.
I hope this gives you some hope.

Best wishes and luck with your search.

I read your comments on this film, and I know the way you feel...trying to
confirm your memories about an old film! I had a similar journey!!

I've had a commercial VHS copy of "The Time Travellers" in my possession for
about 10 years or so. I got it cheap at a flea market. I was actually
looking for "Journey to the Center of Time", but I didn't know the title.
For 30 years, I'd been trying to see JttCoT again, but kept running into The
Time Travellers instead!! So I finally bought the VHS so I'd know it WASN'T
the film I was still looking for.

I did finally find JttCoT on DVD just a couple of years ago. SCORE! Gad,
that movie sucks, but it closes a loose end in my childhood memories and was
well worth the price of purchase!

"There was also a scene where the group of time travellers pass through a
large screen to time travel, and another scene where they encounter
themselves back in their ship, but the other versions of themselves are
moving incredibly slowly!"

This scene is actually from "Journey to the Center of Time". The two films
are very similar, the first half of the stories are almost identical. The
same producer was responsible for both. I have confused the two flicks for
30 years!

I finally have a copy of both!!

All evidence I've seen is that "Journey to the Center of Time" was effectively a remake of "The Time Travellers" in everything but name (and by all accounts, being a far worse movie).

I wish I could say that this was uncommon with SF/horror films, but it isn't; when someone will do things like do a remake of "Cat Women of the Moon" (and incredibly, make it even worse) you know anything can and will happen in this genre. The only difference these days is that they usually go directly to video now since the days of the double feature are pretty much things of the past.
