The andriod special effects?

There was what looked like a continuous scene showing an androids head being removed then replaced. How did they do that?

Thanks. They used a magic trick for the teleportation scene as well.

Since the answer was deleted, I will add it here. If you watch closely, you can see the guys head dips below the table, there is a shelf that goes down, the people help him with getting his head below so you don't see it. They used a common practical magic trick, as the bottom of the table looks like it is just hollow, but if you look closely, you can see a mirror diagonally in the lower area, which gives the impression that the lower half is empty and visible. Meanwhile his head is hidden behind while they come over with a new head helmet to install on the android.

There were a bunch of practical magic tricks performed in this movie, to a nice effect that isn't really used anymore, unfortunately.

thanks! this scene was amazing, old fashion school is always better than cgi today

I've looked at it over and over and I can't see how the heads were changed over.

Also it's interesting that the character called The Mutant played by Peter Strudwick was born with no feet and deformed hands because his mother caught rubella. His deformities are clearly visible in the film.

I noticed they did magic illusions and tricks in the film. Very clever as I didn't notice cuts/edits in film during the tricks.
