OMG, This Was BAD!!!!

By far the worst of the surf movies of the 60's.

I could not stand Len, and the ending was as bad as it could have ever been written.

Truly a PATHETIC FLICK.

I totally agree with you!

I am old enough, not only to remember the "beach blanket" movies of the 1960's;
but to have also been a teenager growing up in
"Los Angeles, (Sunny) California during that time.

I witnessed first hand, that entire 60's culture; the "good, the bad, and
the ugly," and this absolutely represents the worst depiction of that time!

The Band, the acting, the writing, the dancing and the story line were
lousy at best!

I'm always on the lookout for rarely seen music-related flicks such as this epic
just for the musical acts. But even the talents of Jackie De Shannon and others
can not save this offering. HOO-BOY !!
Those reverb-tanked surfing guitars are still twanging in my head!

Wel, whatever you can say about "Glory Wave" you can't deny Jackie gave it a helluva performance. As for the rest of the movie, it took itself WAY too damn seriously... Bobby Vinton was the first choice for AIP's series of beach party movies but it's hard to tell why from this picture.

and that's why it's so fun to watch now! :-)
