Prisoners
Why were they kept prisoners in the dune? What was the point of the villagers keeping them there? I have only seen this movie once, did I miss some explanation early in the movie?
shareSlave labor - the villagers sell sand to construction companies on the black market. The woman explains this to the man somewhat late in the film. You'd think he would have wanted to no that early on. Odd how the woman seems OK with her situation.
shareThanks for the answer, I heard her say what they were doing but I didn't think they were slaves. You would think the villagers would do some of the work themselves to make money and not have to keep people against their will to do it for them. They could make more money if more of them worked at it.
