Joan's actual dress from the movie

Debbie Reynolds has Joan's dress from Strait-Jacket in her possession. (there probably would have been 4 copies of this same dress...2 for Joan and 2 for Diane as she wore it also for the end scene). It was suppose to be on display at her new museum but no one is sure if it will ever open now since the company went bankrupt in Pigeon Forge.

Hmmm...it's made out of silk. I wouldn't have expected that. That would be an easy dress to find a vintage pattern for at http://vintagepatterns.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Or cut + paste http://vintagepatterns.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

You'd have to also find a vintage "belt kit" on ebay to recover, too.

If there's anyone with a needle and thread out there, it's basically this type of "wiggle dress" (Version 1), with small cap sleeves added.

Thanks carson-67 for your subject post . This site looks most intriguing and will definitely check it out further . I think it's great when these classic prop treasures are saved from movies like this . It's such a wonderful piece of history and a cherished memory of these classic movies too .
