It's No Pillow Talk

As I watched this movie I couldn't help but see the similarities between it and one of my favorites, Pillow Talk:

Beautiful single woman, living in the big city, successful career, incredible wardrobe, smarmy but handsome man decides to mess with her, mistaken identity storyline, she falls in love, finds out who he really is, gets mad, but all is right in the end.

So why did I not like this movie when I love Pillow Talk? It just did not work for me. Wood and Curtis are talented and appealing actors, so I don't know if it was the script or the direction. But I have no desire to see it again, whereas I'll watch Pillow Talk any time I can catch it on TCM.
