So young

I havn't seen the movie yet but only read the summary on the board. Why did they make Natile Wood's character soo young 23 year old psychologist? I takes at least fours years to complete college and the average age for that is 21 or 22. Would it have hurt to make the character in her late or mid 20's?

reply

My guess is to attract the younger crowd. Especially at that time, a woman who is 26 for example and still looking for love is a bit peculiar, don't you think?

I wake up from dreams and go "Wow, put this down on paper."

reply

And wasn't she supposed to be, or at least thought of as, a virgin? That could be why they made her character so young.

reply

She must have been ahead of her years, scholastically, and graduated early. However, her lack of knowledge, ethics, and professionalism suggest that she didn't learn much.

She has G.A.S. and H.A.S. That's "Grey's Anatomy Syndrome" and "House Assistant Syndrome". These are directly related to the original "Doogie Houser M.D." disease of some years ago.

It affects mostly doctors, though lawyers, psychologists, nuclear physicists, high ranking military muckity-mucks, archeologists, and other professionals can get it, too.

These syndromes cause the afflicted to be young, brilliant, good looking, spunky, sassy, and graduate at laughably young ages from major colleges. They sometimes work their way up from extreme poverty, are constantly proving their worth to their doubting elders, and look like fashion models and live in high rise penthouses.

Despite that, they work 100 hours a week and have no time for relationships, and if they do, are so socially backwards due to studying studying studying and clawing their way to the top, they can't find a worthy mate to save their lives...

reply

Interesting, but archaeologists? Really? I've been an archaeologist for more than twenty years and I haven't noticed anyone in this profession who is unusually young, lives in a penthouse, or is brilliant and good looking!
