Robert De Niro

Hey Does anyone with a copy of this movie want to throw it in and fast forward it to the very end and when General Scott gets into the car to be driven away.
I would swear his driver is Robert De Niro with a dubbed voice.
Let me know
Thanks
Lunga

Nah, just freeze-framed it on the actor...it's not him.

The mole is on the wrong side anyway.

It definitely is not DeNiro. Interesting thing about that scene, though, is that it was actually filmed in Paris, France. Burt Lancaster was over there filming his next movie, "The Train". For some reason they needed to shoot the last scene of General Scott for "Seven Days in May" at that late date. So, instead of shipping Lancaster back to the states, they just shot it over there.

Frankenheimer says they filmed a scene of Gen. Scott crashing his car into a bus and killing himself, but decided not to use it, so the "Take me home" scene was filmed after the fact, in Paris. All the windows were down in the car, so they wouldn't reflect the signs on the French shops. The driver was an actor who also had a role in "The Train."

"greenleafie": Interesting. Thanks for the additional information regarding the last scene, filmed in Paris.

How about watching the movie before coming to the message board? What is wrong with people?

10 years after your post , I just watched the movie, freeze framed same, I dont know De Niro a lot but that guy in the taxi..... well that's why I came here, to see if anyone else thought it was he. De Niro's Imdb pages go back to a part he played in 1965 only .. so ... 'the mole is on the wrong side', someone says ... mmmmm, odd that there Is a guy who looks like him, really does...and has any sort of mole ...flipped photography? Right hand side driven car made to conform with Left hand drive ?

reply

It did look like him, but it wasn't him.

went to see it and it does look like deniro, only in the late 80s. In mean streets (1967) he was skinny and this cab driver is somewhat chubby

The movie is on YouTube. It's not Robert De Niro.

There is a long history of famous actors being "found" in movies in which they could not possibly have appeared. For one thing(and this is an example) the actors in question would have been very young -- maybe even teenagers when these old movies were made (DeNiro was 20 when Seven Days in May was made -- and not, evidently, in Paris).

Still...it is fun finding these "famous lookalikes."

Everyone looks like someone!
