Still stands as a hilarious movie

I showed this to my film group and it received a lot of laughs. Not only were the three principals enjoyed, but Paul Lynde as the cemetary salesman and Edward Andrews as the doctor shone.

Life, every now and then, behaves as though it had seen too many bad movies

Yes it is a gem. In fact I loved all the DD, RH & TR collaborations. I know they weren't strictly their ideas, but it is a shame the studios/writers didn't come up with more scripts than just three for the ensemble. And the supporting cast were magic too, especially Paul Lynde.

I just saw it today. Its is very funny and cute. I really like Hudson and Day together in movies.

This movie annoyed more than entertained me. I couldn't stand how stupid and ridiculous the wife was and the way the husband took his friend's advice to lie. Basically the whole premise of the movie was flawed.

The guy was a hypochondriac extraordinaire. If he thought he had some fatal illness there's no way he could avoid fixating on it. He'd go overboard trying to get information about whatever he had; including the latest treatments. Even if he didn't tell anyone what he had, he'd probably talk about the illness incessantly. He wouldn't let the doctor off the hook either. He would be constantly calling him or dropping by his office. That's what people like him do.

It's hard to turn a bad script into a good movie. Casting perky Doris Day to play the same ditzy role she usually plays didn't help. And don't get me started on Rock Hudson. He was stiffer than usual in this movie and seemed to be going through the motions.

Also, call me crazy but I felt uncomfortable with what seemed like gay undertones in the movie. I'm referring to the way Hudson and Randall were checking out other guys. The way they interacted with each other was just as bad. I'm not really interested in watching any gay movies and felt that's what I was subjected to.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

I am watching the movie for her first time and find it hilarious. Great slapstick and lines. Tony Randall is a stand out. Plus Doris Day is adorable. The movie even caught my husband's eye and he's not a lover of comedies.

I am watching it now too on TCM! It is just adorable. Also I just love the set design and seeing the décor of the 1960's.

For years I wanted the same wallpaper and matching shades they had in their bedroom in mine. I also loved that house, inside & out.
