The Money Pickup

The acting in this film is superb, but the plot is very creaky. Why does Attenborough pick up the money by direct contact with the girl's father? Attenborough is playing a man of about age 55 who's in poor health, and yet he outran the father, who looks to be a lean, mean 40, and several police detectives strategically placed inside the train station. You want to say he lost them in the rush hour crowd? Fine, but if that was their plan going in, it's very dicey.

I thought so too. The plan of just taking the ransom money from the father and then quickly catching a train - that does not sound like a good plan to me. So many things could have gone wrong. The filmmakers should have come up with something better, because it's hard to believe that the kidnappers would go with such a dangerous plan.
