My new Christmas tradition

Last year I brought the Mystery Science version over my fiancee's house on Christmas cuz I thought it'd be a random yet festive thing to watch. Plus it was everyone's first time watching MST3K. Well, it went over so well we decided to do it again this year and now it's our Christmas tradition.
I love that James Rolfe (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd) reviewed this. I think it brought this awesomely bad movie to the attention of a whole new generation.

Also, my friend's boyfriend wants to get a tattoo of Droppo that says "The Laziest Man on Mars" on his calf. I really hope he goes through with it. It'll be quite a conversation piece.

My Christmas tradition is the MST3K of this movie, then watching Roadhouse. Let's have a patrick Swayze Christmas.

Your friend must be a real dork to want a tattoo like that.

I want to get "Silent Night, Deadly Night" on DVD so I can watch it back-to-back with "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians"... it would make for the perfect Holiday Double Feature from HELL.

TCM just aired "Black Christmas" (aka "Silent Night, Evil Night") followed by "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" this past Friday (12/17/10)! I thought it was scheduling genius!!

Saw this movie for the first time last Saturday, after Black Christmas. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is a camp classic, in my opinion. It is so cheesy & low budget that it's impossible to turn away! I really liked it. Thanks to TCM for showing this.

It certainly has a GREAT theme song, "Hooray for Santa Claus," which was once recorded by the great Al Hirt! :-)

what i can think of i've never seen a christmas movie so heavy on the christmas vibe, or perhaps that impression is helped by the fact that its largely pimped up in the movie macabre release, but since then this is the movie i have a tradition of watching every christmas day, funny how elvira has been hosting movies since the 1980's and not a christmas movie until now (not released on vhs or dvd anyway), its also the most far out original christmas movie i've seen, i read a critic review of it calling it "absurd."
