Godzilla Vs Rodan fight was actually much more entertaining then.....

.....the 3 on 1ing of Ghidorah.

This movie tries to be seem allot more complicated and epic then the prdosecors, putting all 3 of Toho's biggest Monsters against a new Big Bad. I feel like it would have worked better with a bit more screen time to work worth.

Watching this recently (I honestly don't remember if I had seen among the Godzilla films I'd watched back in my youth in the 90s, I know had Seen Godzilla vs Monster Zero, Godzilla Vs Mothra, and a number of others) I couldn't help but be reminded of a few of the Pokemon movies when the Fairies where translating Mothra's conversation with Godzilla and Rodan. But Meowth does it much better.

I find it amusing that Ghidorah is basically defeated the same way Mother defeated Godzilla. It's kinda a bummer we don't even see a proper Mothra.

A good deal of the story with the Human characters is actually interesting, the Martian Prophetess angle made me think of Children of Dune of all things.

Rodan sounds like a girl's name here in the West, I don't know if that was intentional or not in Japan, but because of it as a Kid even though there was absolutely no basis for it I always thought of Rodan as Godzilla's love interest, randomly enough. I have a feeling I'm not the only one though?

I don't know any girls named "Rodan"! I think of the sculptor of "The Thinker" and "The Kiss".

I haven't seen those.

I've seen the original Rodan now, and that has 2 Rodas actually, 1 of each gender. The Hessie Rodan is referred to as Baby's "Half brother" which I get the logic of but still wrong.

The only other Monster clearly defined as Female is Mothra, and I think she's a Lesbian, I suspect her and the Shobijin have a very unique unconventional relationship going on. Lol Seriously though if you think it the Shobijin would have to turn to each other to satisfy their sexual urges, since anatomically speaking no one else possibly could.

The fairies specifically refer to Mothra as "he" in this movie, which surprised me. I always thought Mothra was female.

I think the original Mothra may have been female. Did she have children in her original movie? I know she had two offspring in Godzilla vs. The Thing, I think one of those may have been the Mothra in this movie.

Mothra did not have children in her original movie. One of the offspring in "Godzilla vs. The Thing" appears in this movie.

Boy, do I agree with this part. This movie was one of the hardest of all Godzilla flicks for me to sit through (actually, it took two attempts), and the finishing scene was anything but satisfying after all the tedious human and Venusian (or Martian, depending on the version you're watching) BS.

It's a bizarre film. It just has so much to suspend disbelief about that there's no way to really take it seriously. Venusian abductions, fairies, 4 different monsters, one from space. The monster conversation. The fight scenes also seem cheesier than the previous films. There's just so much to suspend disbelief with. The whole fact that Godzilla exists is obviously a lot to accept, but then the Mothra, infant island, Faries combination stretches it, but Rodan, Venus, Ghidorah. You pretty much have to just start disregarding the plot as much as you can and enjoy the fight scenes. Which is fun in a wya, but also kind of sad, the plots prior to this film were a bit more basic and relatable. Koalas are telepathic. Plus, they control the weather.
