MOVIE UNDERRATED

This is one of the best Sci-Fi movies ever made. Especially for it's time. Acting was great. Even the monkey. Scenery was beautiful. I rate this a 9.

Just got through watching this film on the MOVIES! Channel  .

Totally agree this movie does seem very underrated
and almost forgotten about  .

I only hope this MOVIE! channel or another channel like COMET will
show this lost gem again soon  .

Thanks so much hizherz for your subject post  .

I wouldn't go that far. But it's far better than it has any reason to be. However I do wonder if the movie would had been improved if Adam West was the main character instead of Paul Mantee. Mantee isn't necessarily bad but he's not that charismatic a leading man.

Adam West was probably too stoic and pretty for this gritty role. I thought Mantee and Sundlin were both excellent in this.

I agree. I first saw this on TV back when I was a kid and I liked it even more than "Forbidden Planet".

Agree. Thought it would be horrible but it was great.

This one is a particular favorite that dad and I share. Despite the inaccuracies and the cheesy special-effects, it's a good story. Dad introduced this movie to me as a kid.

The only part I got tired of was the radar going off all the time whenever an evil alien saucer went overhead, or the oxygen alarm goes off and Mona would screech. That got annoying after a few times in the film.
