Did Anyone Here Notice ( with possible spoilers ) ...

that the 3 small silver spacecrafts above the planet
that were firing at the land
was the same ones from the well remembered film -
" War of the Worlds " from 1953  .

Only difference was the metallic heads and long necks
were missing on these spacecrafts   .

Possible film homage perhaps ?

Excellent film IMPO ! 

I'm watching this film ( aka - lost gem )
right now for the very first time ever
on the MOVIES! Channel   .

If you look at the trivia section for this film you will notice that director Byron Haskin worked on both WAR OF THE WORLDS and ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS. It was a cost cutting measure to save money on the budget.

True. If I want to watch a dvd at 3 am in the morning then I watch a dvd at 3 am in the morning. Anyway, you might be interested to know that according to the commentary the fiery sphere which appears in the sky over Mars was previously used in the same directors CONQUEST OF SPACE.
