I make a motion somebody open a winda !!

The veteran character actor, often playing a thug or a cop, Allan Jenkins is a scene stealer every time the hoods have a council meeting as in response to the cigar smoke filled board room, Allen as hood Vermin Witowskie always blurted out, "I make a motion somebody open a winda"

Allen played a gangster alongside Bogie in Dead End Kids, was on I Love Lucy several times, was the voice of Top Cat and appeared in maybe a hundred other roles over the decades, very unique voice, very Lower East Side or Brooklyn when needed. Always a pro and pleasant to see.

His presence was one of the high-spots of Robin and the 7 Hoods. Very well played and a joy -- loved that line. lol

NOW TARZAN MAKE WAR!

reply

Uhmmmm...Allen Jenkins played OFFICER DIBBLE in Top Cat...not Top Cat himself. Personally my favorite role of his was the garbage man in the incredibly funny Barbara Stanwyck/Gary Cooper movie "Ball of Fire"

reply

Of course, Arnold Stang was the voice of Top Cat. And "Ball of Fire" was a very entertaining movie. Highly recommend it.

I clicked on this thread to see if anyone had replied with "Somebody open a winda!" but was dissapointed.

The world belongs to the meat eaters, Miss Clara, and if you have to take it raw, take it raw.

reply

As the creator of this thread, I'm curious why you are disspointed, the thread has received some attention, more than enough for such a trivial quote

reply

'Somebody open a winda anyway!'

The world is your lobster.

reply

I second that motion: Somebody open a winda!
