I agree, "Style" is my favorite from this film---in fact it was the reason I wanted to see this film, I had heard the song with the funny lines from the movie included. Not only is it a fun song on its own, but youre right---having the greats like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby singing together cements its place as a classic!
shareI remember as a tenager having a copy of the soundtrack and the funny lines were included. Actually I don't know if anyone else has noticed but soundtrack cds are not as good as LPs used to be (I'm going back 35-40 years). I think it enriches a soundtrack when the funny lines are included as, in the axamply of Style, when Frankie and Dino are joking about Bing, "I think it's his throat."
I have noticed it on other film soundtracks as well. Has anyone else?
Love the song Style, but actually love all the songs in this movie. The song Dean sings while shooting pool - I don't know it just so suited the personna of Dean - totally cool, and nonchalant - I can't imagine we'll see a cast with this level of collective talent and skill again. Because we don't have "stars" of this type anymore. There is no one today who is comparable career-wise to Sinatra, Crosby, Martin et.al. And all the character actors in the smaller parts. Pure entertainment.
