Colors

I have never seen the version with the bright colors. I watched The Umbrellas late one night on AMC and the whole thing was in black and white. Please post if you have any information on that version or have seen it...I'm starting to think that I imagined the whole thing.

Better than renting it, which I recently did, is to buy the new Special Edition. This is, of course, colour and has lots of extras on the second disc.
There are interviews and clips from a lot of other related films as well.

There's a very expensive import available from Amazon.co.uk but it doesn't say that it's remastered or anything. Possibly it is still to come.

The colors are part of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg experience.

Go! Now! To your local video store and rent the colorized version!

I agree with whomever said a B&W version is a travesty. They should destroy every copy!

Did you see that? She just said *beep* you to me! *beep* you too, you whore!

The colors in this movie are amazing. As good and as important as the lyrics, music and acting for the success of this wonderful movie!

Holy cow, just watched this on TCM last night, and the COLORS in the restored version, wow! I'm almost blind. And it makes me miss the fun 1960s so much....
