It is only worth seeing as a curiosity. Kurosawa's "Rashomon" is the real deal.

it's on right now and looks really good but unfortunatly i've been awake since the day before and for once i'm going to have to fight the urge to watch the entire thing and go to bed... this is why netflix is great.

I saw it! It was Paul Newman's birthday yesterday. They played his films for the whole day. I also saw The Prize and Somebody Up There Likes Me. He has unbelievable range, doesn't he?! He was a terrific actor.

Everybody did a great job in the film. I was kinda stoned when I got into the film maybe 45 minutes in, and I had no idea what was going on, but I was very compelled to keep watching. Paul was a really great Mexican! Some actors aren't believable when they play other nationalities, especially during the earlier days of film. But I didn't see Paul Newman like that at all. He was the character, and it was amazing. I liked Laurence Harvey's Southern accent. Claire Bloom deserved an Oscar for her testimony scene.
