As soon as this or any movie ends...

I find that I'm on IMDB, checking the comments. However, I seldom do it before watching the movie. What about you - do you check before or after or both?

[I do other things backwards too...]

I'm watching now(DVR) and as per usual, checking "things" on IMDb. Rarely do I read about a movie before I watch. So, that makes two of us.

If it's a move I haven't seen before, I usually won't go into IMDb until it's over. But if I've seen the film before, or am otherwise distracted on the Web and not really paying that much attention, I may go into IMDb to check things out, but even then I may bypass the comments and will just focus on the facts--cast, crew, location.

I rarely download a film before checking it out on IMDb. As a matter of fact I use it as a guide for which movies to get and watch. I browse through directors'\writers'\actors'\actresses' filmographies and if I like anything I see, I search for it on the web.

Exactly the same here although only after watching.Saw this rather unusual film for the first time last week and found it relatively interesting.Good performances from Newman and Shatner in particular.

Both. I use the comments to see if it's something I might like.

I usually check the numerical score and who is in it. I usually skip the comments because some people don't use spoiler headings "the butler did it. He was the illegtimate son!"

I won't watch movies if they have certain actors who can't find their way out of a paper bag.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

Great Post. You have criteria for selecting movies. A co-worker suggested the web site Rotten Tomatoes, where you could define your criteria and never see a movie you don't want to see. I didn't do it, but there are movies I reject because I'm not interested in the actor (male or female). But I have found some gems by giving them a chance.

I also agree that you risk finding out the most important info when you come here before you have seen the selection. I have been guilty of that myself. So eager to talk and discuss. But where else can you tap into a million opinions, enjoy the vigor of some posters, and learn something.
