Great underrated movie!

Just watched this on you tube, thanks to poster Christinekay, who posted that is was on you tube last year

I really like this movie too! It's subtle for a William Castle movie and it's not nearly as campy and tragic as some of the other horror films that were being made around that time by legendary actresses (Bette Davis, Joan Crawford being the main culprits). It's got a rather interesting premise and, I have to say, when I was watching it I was hooked in and had no idea how it was going to resolve. It may not be a classic, but it's not nearly as bad as some have said.

I so much agree! (Glad to see these are recent posts.)

I saw this in the theater when I was 7, and it terrified me! Guess what? When I caught it on cable 40 years later, it STILL scared the living daylights out of me!) I actually found the VHS (new in box) on ebay about a few years back. (Since it's not on DVD, I intend to keep my VHS/DVD player.)

Love this movie!

You can also find it in its entirety on Youtube (that's where I got it from).

Well, the prologue's great, anyway. I like it thru Stanwyck's husband's death, but it falls apart after that.

Love Vic Mizzy's creepy score!

Non-sequiturs are delicious.

@PrometheusTree64.

This is my least favorite Stanwyck movie. If fell apart for me even before her husband's death. 5/10.

It gets better.. I've seen it 3x now each about a year apart and it just gets more enjoyable.
I love Barbara Stanwyck and William Castle is a crazy lovable promoter and movie maker.
I am upping my Rating of this movie. Happens a lot as I get older. I see movies through different eyes as I get older and appreciate movies that maybe I didn't have the patience for as a younger man. Movies I roared at as a young man just seem cheezy... but I still love silly movies.

Just saw it for the second time on Svengoolie. Great, creepy movie, especially the wedding sequence. Wish they could have used Hayden Rorke a little more. Having to undergo all of the makeup that he did, I thought his name should have been higher on the credits.
