Angel Foam Champagne

That must have been some reference Angel Foam Champagne gave Kelly, so she could get a job as a head Nurse in a pediatrics ward. Obviously, she didn't get a reference from her pimp, Farlunde.
One of my fave movies.

I recall Mac specifically saying Kelly came in without a single reference. She was hired on the spot because Mac felt she was born to handle children with crutches and babies in braces. In other words, she was a natural. She cared for the kids but was emotional about their condition. The others may have known their jobs well but dealing with the kids' condition day in and day out took its toll on them emotionally. They felt sorry for the kids and pampered rather than forced them to do the things that would eventually help them.

We're supposed to believe Kelly's toughness was the reason she wasn't able to talk to the little girl who had been at Grant's house but I'm not buying it. She was rough with the kids at the hospital when she needed to be. It was tough love; hence the comparison to Captain Bligh, but she could also be charming, kind, and nice at other times like when she was reading to them or when they were all singing.

It was surprising Griff had to tell her how to talk to and treat the little girl. That scene didn't really work for me. I think Kelly was frustrated and yelling at the girl because she was anxious and desperate to get her to tell the truth about the day Grant was killed. It was not because she didn't know how to talk to a child. Perhaps it was the only way they knew to let us know Kelly was unable to have children. It was another burden from her past. Still, knowing the child had been abused, it seems odd that she would do anything to further traumatize her.

Obviously, she didn't get a reference from her pimp, Farlunde.
Mac knew nothing of Kelly's past so, of course, she wouldn't have given her pimp as a reference. I guess you're joking because her pimp was also the reason she was on the run. He had put a price on her head when he claimed she stole all his money. He showed up after reading of her arrest hoping he could put the nail in her coffin; just like that equally distasteful and horrible woman, Candy.
