Hi rubyredjewel; yes, that's what I had thought too - that "None of the other Rutherford films had an actual poisoning". Then I rechecked & in fact was reminded that there was another poisoning in the Rutherford films - in 'Murder Ahoy'. One of the men on the trustee panel (at the very beginning of the film) takes a pinch of snuff that it transpires has been laced with strychnine.
However, that still doesn't answer my query as 'Murder Ahoy' has nowt about "Prussian Blue" & cyanide.
Frustrating, isn't it!! ,-D
So I am still looking for that "Prussian Blue" thing!
A bit of Googling re Christie & "Prussian Blue" led me to references to the murder in 'The Pale Horse'.
BTW, I found this episode of the modern Marple 'The Pale Horse' [it was also made in a non-Marple version in the '90s] at YouTube:
Agatha Christies Marple: S5E1 - The Pale Horse
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msqawi3lFGs
&
[N.B. !!SPOILER-alert!!: This video clip starts at the murderer-disclosure scene, which is where the death method is also mentioned]:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msqawi3lFGs&feature=player_detailpage#t=4316s
But that too is not the "Prussian Blue" thing! :-(
At least I have found one useful thing online after all my searching, so thought I would share it here: I have, today, found this great webpage:
www.subzin.com
which is all about quotes from films & TV series (it's a search website for such quotations).
Although I have found the website to be limited - as it doesn't have all the quotes from all the movies ever made, LOL! - an impossible?!?! task, even in this age of digitisation!! ,-D
(I tested the website to see just how comprehensive its coverage was. An example of what is left out of the website: Sadly, the website doesn't cite Morecambe & Wise's famous [well, it's famous here in the UK, at least!] line "...not necessarily in the right order" from the Grieg/Previn comedy sketch.)
The website, fortunately, quotes many other "lines" including the phrase from 'Murder Most Foul' (1964) re cyanide; this is found cited at URL:
www.subzin.com/quotes/Murder+Most+Foul/and+a+pellet+of+sodium+cyanide
This cites the exact film script re the cyanide bit. Very useful.
It also cites the exact citation-time in the timeline of the film:
01:08:31 and a pellet of sodium cyanide.
This time-stamp is very handy if you want to 'scooch' through the film as it tells you the exact point in the film that you are looking for.
The best thing is that I could search the website for any mention - and in any film or TV series! - of "Prussian Blue".
And, as this search (www.subzin.com/search.php?q=prussian+blue) turned up nothing of that phrase as being in a Marple film, it seems a fairly finite!! answer to my query
i.e. I am beginning to wonder if I have got this 'memory' of the phrase awfully WRONG!! LOL!!
At least there is one good thing to come out of my lengthy search for this citation: the subzin.com website could be a quite handy for when I have other queries like this! Gr8!
from SceneByScene (UK) . . . I films & Freeview TV!
