I recommend the shorter version

This film is a superb example of "soviet neorealism", depicting the everyday lives of the Soviet youth during the Khrushchev Thaw. It is also an amazing time capsule of the early 60s Moscow. The film was somewhat censored when it came out. Both, the longer uncensored version (Zastav Iljitcha) and the shorter censored version (Mne dvadtsat let) are currently available on youtube. For today's viewers the shorter version would probably be a better choice. Even the short version is actually very long, but the long version is just painfully slow at times (some 20 minutes of non-stop poetry reading).
