Matrimonio all'italiana US DVD

I have this film on Mr Bongo UK DVD - and I have read that it has some pointless cuts. A shame as it's one of my favourites, and I would like to see it uncut. There is also a US DVD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marriage-Italian-Style-DVD-Region/dp/B000A59QOG/ref=sr_1_4?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1432756344&sr=1-4&keywords=marriage+italian+style

Anyone know if this one has cuts and if the quality is decent? I really don't want to spend all that money unless it's an improvement.

SrMachito,

Cineteca di Bologna did a complete 4k restoration of 'Marriage Italian Style' in 2014. It will be uncut and in it's original edit.
It was featured at Cannes Classico in 2014 with an appearance by Sophia and had special showings in New York and Los Angeles (look it up).
I expect Criterion to pick it up soon either 2015 or 2016.
Be patient; it's coming !!!

Wow that's great news! Thanks for the info. There are so many vintage films that are so hard to find on DVD nowadays, so I'm glad that some are still being issued.

Best wishes.

I only hope the English dubbed version will be included. Purists be damned, the comedy in the movie plays much better than the original Italian, and Loren hones her performance to perfection. I don't know who dubbed for Mastroianni in all his films, but he is a genius (his utterance of Signora Cucorulo's name at his mother's wake is priceless). Dialogue has been tweaked in some parts, and in an unusual instance it's for the better.
