Hated the scenes in the bank & Van Dyke as an old man / board meeting ..

Urgh........ just hated it. It slows down the movie. And I hate that song sung in the bank with the board members.
This should have been cut out of the movie . Grim and boring.

P.S. not 100 crazy for the "I Love to Laugh" scene but- to show you what a kind giving person that I am-- I will let you keep it in.

"In every dimension , there's another YOU!"

Yeah that was always my least favorite part. I never even understood the "wooden leg named Smith" joke as a kid, so the whole scene had no meaning for me.

Man was named SMITH and had a wooden leg..therefore, he was a man with a WOODEN LEG named SMITH..so what's
his other leg's name? I love it! And Ed Wynn's alwaYS FUNNY.

reply

i think the bank scenes are very funny.

This bank scene is important because it portrays when Mr. Banks has his transformation/conversion, however maybe the scene could've been shortened.

MP was available on my trans-Atlantic flight the other night. I skipped everything but the animation sequence. Just as I remembered from when I saw it as a kid, the live-action scenes (chimney sweeps' dance, Ed Wynn and the bank scene, in particular) were just boring as hell.

Just put the penguins on an endless loop.

Yeah I hated that, always found it creepy..

I don't see how you could hate that scene. It sets up the finale. Personally I found it hysterical. (But everyone is entitled to their own opinion)

Why do you people continue to watch a movie you dislike so much?
