Too little Three Stooges and too much Robert Benchley!

The Big Parade of Comedy? Meh!

The producers could have selected much better, and funnier, skits for The Three Stooges from the multitude of choices available by 1964 for their "Parade".

It’s a terrible skit taken from Hollywood Party (1934) with scientists arguing over whether Curly is a Neanderthal. One scientist corrects the other and labels Curly “the androgynous-type”! What!? The script doesn’t even make sense, and surely doesn't highlight the talents of the Stooges!

Why not skits from Hoi Polloi (1935), Men in Black (1934), or Micro-Phonies (1945)?

And why a skit with Ted Healy? By 1964 he was long gone. Besides when I see him hit any one of the Boys, knowing how he treated them in reality, I just want to knock him out!

Lastly, why does Robert Benchley get three skits to highlight his “talents”? Just like his appearances in feature films, he was given way too much screen time here. Besides, he too, was long gone and his style of humor was way outdated by 1964.

Well at least they used scenes from The Navigator for Buster Keaton.
