Finally available on DVD

Even though this was one of the most commercially successful foreign-language films in U.S. box office history, it seemed to disappear completely from sight in the years following its initial release. Well, I'm happy to announce that it is finally available (in a beautiful print, incidentally) on DVD, though the caveat is that it is only in Region 2 format. Luckily, most computers and some DVD players have Region 2 playback capability. Definitely worth checking out.

I would love to get a copy of this movie for a German friend. You indicate it is now available on DVD, but where?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry for the slow response. It can be purchased through amazon at the following link:

Hope this is of help.

Buddy-51,
I'm guessing you have the DVD of this - since neither IMDb or Amazon.com lists an aspect ratio, can ya tell me if the film is "letterboxed" or "full screen" on it?

Would appreciate the info as I'm doing research on the theatre that showed the film here in Las Vegas back in 1966. Thanx. Whoman Jim

It's been awhile since I watched it. The problem is that if I put it into my computer one more time, the computer will PERMANENTLY go into Region-2 mode and I'll never again be able to watch a Region-1 video on it ever again. Isn't that crazy?

But, if memory serves me, this was a letterboxed version, though I don't know the ratio off hand. The DVD cover is all in Swedish, so I'm a bit at a loss as to its official ratio.

Thanx for the info Buddy - am guessing the film was shot "Flat" & probably projected at 1.66:1, but, again, a guess.
And sorry on the situation with yer puter - that IS crazy! Cheers.
