One of my favorite films EVER...

The atmosphere, the sets, the haunting characters/Stories...Its the kind of movie that you never forget and particular scenes, characters will haunt your memory forever...The indoor sets of exterior settings are so artistic and beautiful they're like watching a painting in motion...I also really love the Historical Japanese references like the woman's blackened teeth which started me on a path of study RE-Japanese history that continues to this day

Yep, it is a awesome flick and you def wont forget about it. Way creepier than the bs that passes for horror these days.

Well I've only watched the first two stories so far but I can confidently say it's like entering a world that you simply do not want to leave. I'm seriously impressed by what I've seen & so powerfully emotional as well. Great stuff. Can't wait to get back to it.

I am glad that it is one of your favourites aswell. You would probably enjoy the works of Lafcadio Hearn which these segments are based upon (Hearn's stories are beautiful retellings of Japanese folktales). I suggest you start with 'Kwaidan', 'Kotto', 'Shadowings' and 'In Ghostly Japan'.

It's so amazing I almost didn't blink :) And it's the most interesting use of painted sets I've ever seen...
