Spaghetti Westerns

The Czech actor Karel Fiala, who played Lemonade Joe, claims this film influenced the sub genre Spaghetti Westerns of the late 1960's. Does anyone agrees ?.

According to wikipedia, Tierra brutal is generally considered the first one. Not sure.

I believe so, yes.

I think at least some of the Italian western comedies could have been influenced by it, or at least managed to hit a similar note... except that "late 1960s" might be a stretch; I think "early 1970s" would be more likely for the same tone.

Fascinatingly, there are similarities between the wanted poster scene here and the wanted poster scene in For A Few Dollars More; but that, I think, is complete coincidence - the times of making / release would not have allowed for actual inspiration in either direction.

Well, considering this is a hilarious comedy (with the sexy Kopecky ) and few spaghetti westerns are, I'm not convinced.
